The comparison between Macbook Pro and Macbook Air

First of all, let us look at the history of Macbooks and how they came to be. The Apple Inc. launched in May of 2006. The new Macbook line was created to replace the iBook and the PowerBook with 12-inch screen. The Macbook is a part of the transition of Apple-Intel products, aimed to be used for the consumers in the educational markets.

It became one of the best-selling Macintosh computers in history of USA. The company decided to finally discontinue the Macbook line on July 20th, 2011 to make way for the new Macbook Air; however, the Macbooks are still for sell for the educational institutions.

Macbook Pro comes in 3 different screen-size, 13-inch, 15-inch and 17-inch screen. The Macbook Pro comes with Intel processor with quad-core Intel Core 17. All Macbook Pro is providing twice as fast speed for both the computer’s processor and the graphics processor than the previous generation.

This provides the users with more frames per second in 3D games or work on HD video projects with more speed and responsiveness than before.

The Macbook Air comes in 2 screen sizes, the 11-inch and the 13-inch. It is a light weight laptop computer with ultrathin and ultra light aluminum unibody, powered by a dual-core Intel Core i5 or i7 processor with 2GB-4GB memory models and runs on 1333 MHz DDR3 onboard memory.

It comes with Intel HD Graphics 3000 processor with DDR3 SDRAM with 256 MB or 384MB main memory.

Now many people are considering whether to buy a Macbook or a Windows PC and what would be the differences in the usages. Let’s look at the comparisons between the Mac and PC computers.

The processor: Mac and PC these days run on the same processor which is the Intel Core 2 Duo, using the same chip and technology.

This means that they are equal in the technology for an entry level computer aspect.

As for OS performance, the Windows machines are reputable for being unreliable and almost impossible to fix while Mac OS X is based on UNIX’s solid core. The Apple support databases are thorough and very informative and easy to understand. The OS X is known to receive various awards as the best operating system from countless PC review magazines and sites. The OS X is definitely the best OS out there in the market at the moment based on the reliability, performance and usage.

Many can find cheap Macbooks from various online web sites such as Amazon.com, eBay.com. There are many good conditions 2nd hand Macbooks that you can buy for almost half the price of the new one while they work exactly the same.
